The Lamb, The Veil, The Glory
Pastor Mark’s 2017 Easter Sermon tying together the old testament and the new to explain how Jesus acted as the veil, who when pierced, allowed the glory of God to fully be revealed to man, and how the old testament had analogous stories leading up to it that foreshadowed the one great event.
Among other stories, this recollects Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice Isaac and the full symbolic meaning behind it, the use of incense and the altar surrounded by the veil, and the symbolic lamb, who is innocent and follows the good shepherd around, making it the perfect sacrifice, as it did nothing wrong.
Feeding off of our other series, this ties together the prophecies of the Old Testament and how it foreshadowed the new and provided depth and meaning as to what exactly happened on “Good” Friday, and Resurrection Sunday.
